The Judith Wright Arts Centre occupies a pair of heritage-listed buildings on Brunswick Street that once served as a factory for Bushells Tea. You can identify the structure by its industrial brick exterior, which now stands in the center of Fortitude Valley as a hub for contemporary performance and visual arts. Affectionately known by locals as The Judy, the site opened in October two thousand one after a redevelopment project transformed the former production facility into a network of rehearsal studios, galleries, and a black box theatre.
