The Story Bridge is defined by its massive steel cantilever framework, featuring geometric trusses that rise prominently above the Brisbane River. Completed in nineteen forty, this bridge was designed by the engineer John Bradfield and constructed by the local firm Evans Deakin-Hornibrook as a major project to provide employment during the Great Depression. The structure spans two hundred eighty-two meters at its longest point and contains approximately two million rivets holding its steel components together.
