Boundary Street marks the nineteenth-century perimeter of the Brisbane penal settlement. It was established as a formal barrier separating the colonial town from the surrounding landscape. By the mid-eighteen hundreds, this road served as the designated edge of the British settlement, delineating a zone where the Jagera and Turrbal peoples were prohibited from entering after four in the afternoon on weekdays and throughout the day on Sundays.
