Total House is a Brutalist building featuring seven stacked concrete parking decks capped by a floating office block. Completed in nineteen sixty-five at the corner of Russell and Little Bourke Streets, it was designed by the firm Bogle and Banfield Associates. The name comes from its original anchor tenant, Total Oil Products. The structure represents a post-war response to booming car ownership in Melbourne, blending Japanese-inspired bold concrete forms with a practical demand for inner-city parking.
