Tin House Court is defined by the ornamental metal facade fixed to a limestone wall within this sheltered urban courtyard. The structure, which mimics the appearance of brick and wood through molded sheet metal, was originally crafted in the early twentieth century by an Ottawa tinsmith named Honoré Foisy. He decorated his own home at one hundred thirty-six Guigues Street with these galvanized iron sheets to serve as a permanent advertisement for his professional craft.
