Simcoe WaveDeck

The Simcoe WaveDeck is a public wooden structure at the water’s edge that rises in dramatic, sweeping curves as high as two point six meters above Lake Ontario. Designed by the firms West eight and DTAH, this undulating platform replaced a narrow sidewalk with an expansive, amphitheater-style space. It is built from hundreds of Ipe wood and yellow cedar planks, with slender stainless steel railings tracing the rises and falls of the deck’s shape.
