Monumento India Catalina

The India Catalina monument is a darkened bronze statue of a young indigenous woman, captured in a standing pose with her head tilted upward and her arms held at her sides. Sculpted by the artist Eladio Gil Zambrana, this figure occupies a small plaza at the intersection of Avenida Pedro de Heredia and Avenida Venezuela. The statue’s surface has developed a distinct patina over the decades, and its silhouette is frequently used as the design for the trophies awarded at the International Film Festival of Cartagena.
