Fishmarket

The Peškarija is a historic fish market housed in a white stone building, distinguishable by its glazed roof supported by a cast iron structure. Designed by Ante Bezić and completed in eighteen ninety, the market reflects the Secession style common to the era. It occupies a central position near Marmont Street, drawing residents who have frequented the site for generations to purchase Adriatic catches like sardines, mackerel, and sea bass.
