The Pont de Courbevoie spans the Seine, linking the commune of Courbevoie to the Île de la Jatte and Neuilly-sur-Seine. It stands as a successor to a long history of river crossings at this site, where a ferry once operated under the authority of the abbey of Saint-Denis. In June sixteen oh six, a carriage carrying King Henry the Fourth and Marie de Médicis fell into the water here after the ferry failed, an incident that nearly claimed the lives of the royal couple.
