The Parc Diderot is defined by a massive, monumental waterfall that spills down a steep hillside, cutting through the landscape with layers of blue-gray stone. Opened in nineteen ninety-two and designed by the landscape architect Alain Provost, this one-hectare garden makes use of a fourteen-meter drop in elevation to create a rushing, audible feature that stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding glass towers of the La Défense business district.
