The Parc Saint Jean-Paul II is defined by a sloping landscape that offers a wide view over the Seine valley and the western reaches of Paris. Once part of the extensive grounds belonging to the Saint-Sulpice seminary, the area shifted to public ownership in nineteen seventy-five through a long-term lease between the city and the Compagnie des prêtres de Saint-Sulpice.
