Promenade Petite Ceinture

The Promenade Petite Ceinture is a linear park elevated above the streets, where rusting iron rails still slice through wild, self-seeded thickets. Built under the direction of Napoleon the Third and Baron Haussmann, this former railway originally formed a complete circle around Paris. Between eighteen fifty-two and eighteen sixty-nine, the line functioned as a vital logistics artery, transporting freight and passengers between the capital's main train stations before the rise of the Metro eventually rendered it obsolete by nineteen thirty-four.
