Place de Bagatelle

landmark

Place de Bagatelle acts as a gateway to the western edge of the Bois de Boulogne in Neuilly-sur-Seine. This intersection is named for the nearby Château de Bagatelle, a neoclassical estate commissioned in seventeen seventy-five by the Count of Artois. The château itself famously appeared in sixty-four days following a high-stakes wager between the Count and his sister-in-law, Queen Marie-Antoinette, who doubted such a project could be finished in three months.
