Bouillon Julien at sixteen rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis is defined by a vivid, celadon-green interior and an explosion of Art Nouveau detail. Opened in nineteen oh six by architect Édouard Fournier, the restaurant was built to provide affordable, hearty meals to working-class Parisians within a setting of extravagant luxury. Fournier famously declared that the space was meant to ensure everything inside was beautiful, tasty, and inexpensive.
