Colonne de la Paix Armée

The Colonne de la Paix Armée stands eight and a half meters tall, topped by a bronze figure of an armed, winged woman. Designed by the architect Paul Sédille and sculpted by Jules Coutan, the monument reached its current home in the Parc Montsouris in nineteen eighty-four. It arrived here after its original location in the square d'Anvers, within the ninth arrondissement, was cleared for the construction of an underground parking garage.
