Montrouge Cemetery

The Montrouge Cemetery is identified by a monumental stone entrance featuring three large openings framed by square pillars, with bronze doors that rise only two-thirds of the way up the portals. While it is now situated in the fourteenth arrondissement of Paris, the site was originally established in eighteen nineteen to serve the commune of Montrouge. It was annexed by the city of Paris in nineteen twenty-five following a boundary shift, and today it remains the only Parisian cemetery that contains a public crypt.
