The beffroi de l’ancien marché is a tall, four-faced clock tower rising above the landscape of the Parc Georges-Brassens in the fifteenth arrondissement. It was built between eighteen ninety-four and eighteen ninety-seven under the direction of architect Ernest Moreau. The tower formed part of a massive complex dedicated to the Vaugirard horse market and slaughterhouses, which occupied this site for decades.
