Cemetery Montrouge

The Cemetery of Montrouge is defined by a distinct, monumental stone entrance featuring three large openings framed by square pillars. While it now sits within the fourteenth arrondissement of Paris, the site was originally established in eighteen nineteen on land belonging to the commune of Montrouge. It was annexed by the city of Paris in nineteen twenty-five, yet it remains the only Parisian cemetery to contain a dedicated crypt, a structure designed by the architect Henri Decaux in the nineteen twenties.
