The Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre stands out for its monumental facade, which features a central clock inspired by traditional Flemish and Walloon belfries. Designed by architect Armand Guéritte and completed in nineteen twenty-seven, this building was the first foreign house established within the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris. It was funded by Jean Hubert Biermans, a businessman who built his fortune in the Canadian pulp industry, and his wife, Berthe Lapôtre.
