Musée d'Art Juif

The Musée d’Art Juif once occupied a quiet space at forty-two Rue des Saules, tucked away in the Montmartre district. Founded in nineteen forty-eight by survivors of the Holocaust, the museum grew from a desire to preserve the remnants of a vanished world. Its collection featured religious objects, architectural models of synagogues destroyed during the war, and works by artists from the School of Paris. For decades, it served as a repository for these fragile pieces, tracing a history that reached far beyond the walls of its twelve rooms.
