Hôtel de Jarnac

The Hôtel de Jarnac is a neoclassical mansion easily identified by its austere entrance gate on rue Monsieur, flanked by symmetrical pavilions. Built in seventeen eighty-four by the architect Étienne-François Legrand, the residence stands as a pure example of the period's architectural refinement. Its facade facing the garden features four ionic half-columns that support a distinctively curved pediment, a design detail that separates it from the neighboring townhouses of the seventh arrondissement.
