Le Balzac

Le Balzac is a historic cinema distinguished by its circular Art Deco auditorium, tucked away just steps from the Champs-Élysées. It first opened on May sixth, nineteen thirty-five, with a screening of King Vidor’s film Soir de noces. While the theater initially focused on major Hollywood productions, it shifted its identity after the Second World War to champion French cinema. This change helped launch the careers of directors like René Clément and Jacques Tati before the venue solidified its reputation as a home for international arthouse films.
