Pagoda Paris

The Pagoda Paris is impossible to miss, distinguished by its vibrant red façade, sloping tiled roof, and intricate latticework windows that contrast sharply with the surrounding gray stone of the eighth arrondissement. Located at the corner of rue de Courcelles and rue Rembrandt, this building began as a standard nineteenth-century French mansion. In nineteen twenty-five, the influential Chinese art dealer Ching Tsai Loo purchased the property and commissioned architect Fernand Bloch to transform it into a residence and gallery for his collection of Asian antiquities.
