The Écluse du Temple is marked by heavy metal gates that divide the water levels of the Canal Saint-Martin. It acts as a final transition point for boats moving south, as they pass through this lock before entering the long, vaulted tunnel that runs beneath the city boulevards toward the Port de l'Arsenal.
