Hôtel du Châtelet

The Hôtel du Châtelet at one hundred twenty-seven rue de Grenelle is a neoclassical townhouse defined by its balanced, symmetrical stone façade. Completed in seventeen seventy-six by the architect Mathurin Cherpitel, it was originally commissioned by the Duke of Châtelet. The building is known for its refined eighteenth-century proportions, which reflect the status of the aristocratic families who once lived in this district.
