The Allée des Cygnes is a narrow, tree-lined path that runs the length of an artificial island in the middle of the Seine. This strip of land, measuring eight hundred fifty meters long and only eleven meters wide, was built in eighteen twenty-seven to protect the Pont de Grenelle. The path divides the river between the fifteenth and sixteenth arrondissements, offering a quiet walkway far from the surrounding city traffic.
