Seven rue Nélaton is a quiet, non-descript location, but it held the headquarters of the Direction de la surveillance du territoire, or DST, for over two decades. Between nineteen eighty-five and two thousand seven, this office functioned as the central command for France’s domestic intelligence agency. Its agents focused on counterespionage and counterterrorism, operating from this site to protect national interests against foreign interference.
