The Pont Rouelle is a steel railway bridge recognized by its unusual structural mix, as it spans the Seine using a combination of a single metal arch over the river's right arm, a stone arch over the Île aux Cygnes, and girders resting on piers over the left arm. Built for the nineteen hundred Exposition Universelle, the bridge was designed by the architect A. Bonnet to connect the Champs de Mars railway line to the rest of the city's network.
