Boulevard Malesherbes

Boulevard Malesherbes is recognizable by its expansive, uniform stone façades and long, uninterrupted balconies that run along the second and fifth floors of its buildings. This wide avenue was carved through the city during the urban renovations of Baron Haussmann in the eighteen fifties and sixties. It stretches from the Place de la Madeleine in the eighth arrondissement to the Porte d’Asnières in the seventeenth, connecting neighborhoods that were transformed under the direction of Napoleon the Third.
