Le Dôme Café

Le Dôme Café, at one hundred eight boulevard du Montparnasse, is recognizable by its ornate Art Deco facade, expansive street-side terrace, and cursive script spelling out its name above the entrance. Founded in eighteen ninety-eight by Paul Chambon, it began as a modest neighborhood bar and tobacco shop. It soon became the first café in Montparnasse to attract a diverse, international crowd of writers, painters, and thinkers who gathered here for conversation and to share their work.
