Rue Saint-Agricol

other

Rue Saint-Agricol is defined by the Collegiate Church of Saint-Agricol, a fourteenth-century Gothic building that houses the relics of Avignon’s patron saint. The street carries the name of the seventh-century bishop Agricola, who according to tradition protected the city from plague and drought. While the current structure rose in thirteen twenty-one, the site has served as a place of worship since the seventh century.
