Basilique Notre-Dame de l’Assomption

religious

The Basilique Notre-Dame de l’Assomption is easily identified by its two square towers rising sixty-five meters above the busy Avenue Jean-Médecin. It is the largest church in Nice, though it does not hold the status of the city’s cathedral. Construction began in eighteen sixty-four, just a few years after the County of Nice was annexed by France.
