The Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate is recognizable by its dome, which is covered in shimmering, multi-colored glazed tiles that stand out above the rooftops of the old town. This seventeenth-century building, constructed between sixteen forty-nine and sixteen ninety-nine, presides over the Place Rossetti and serves as the seat of the Diocese of Nice. It was designed by the Nice-born architect Jean-André Guibert and modeled after the church of Santa Susanna in Rome.
