The Palais communal sits on Place Saint-François, a square that became the city's administrative core in the sixteenth century. You can identify the building by its Baroque facade, designed by Giò Pietro Agliaudo in seventeen fifty-eight, which features intricate stonework typical of the Turinese and Genoese styles. Originally constructed between fifteen seventy-four and fifteen eighty, this structure replaced the city’s earlier seat of power located on the high ground of the Castle Hill.
