Colline du Château

park garden

The Colline du Château is a ninety-two-meter-high rocky outcrop rising between the Old Town of Nice and the port. It takes its name from a formidable military citadel that occupied the summit from the eleventh century until the early eighteenth century. Today, the site functions as a public park, marked by a prominent, man-made waterfall inaugurated in eighteen eighty-five that draws water from the Vésubie valley.
