Nasir al-Mulk Mosque

The Nasir al-Mulk Mosque in Shiraz is distinguished by the extensive rose-colored tiles that adorn its interior, a color choice so prominent it earned the site the name Pink Mosque. Commissioned by the Qajar nobleman Mirza Hasan Ali, also known as Nasir al-Mulk, the structure took twelve years to complete, from eighteen seventy-six to eighteen eighty-eight. Architects Mohammad Hasan-e-Memar and Mohammad Reza Kashi-Saz designed the building during a period when Persian architecture was shifting, incorporating traditional elements like the winter prayer hall's stone columns and intricate muqarnas vaulting.
