Ramban Street was the first street laid out in the Rehavia neighborhood, which began its transformation from a desolate plot of land into a garden suburb in the early nineteen twenties. The neighborhood was designed by architect Richard Kauffmann, who modeled the area after the garden cities of Europe, creating a space of curved, quiet streets and international-style architecture.
