Jerusalem International YMCA

The Jerusalem International YMCA is distinguished by a one hundred and fifty-two-foot observation tower that rises above a complex of domes and arches. Dedicated in nineteen thirty-three, the building was designed by Arthur Loomis Harmon, an architect who also conceived the Empire State Building in New York. The structure is clad in Jerusalem limestone that glows amber in the late afternoon sun, and it sits at twenty-six King David Street, a location chosen to span the divide between different parts of the city.
