Mea Shearim Talmud Torah

The Mea Shearim Talmud Torah is a historic institution within one of Jerusalem’s oldest neighborhoods outside the Old City walls. Established in eighteen eighty-five, this building sits in a quarter founded just over a decade earlier by pioneers who sought to move beyond the cramped conditions of the walled city. The structure is recognized for a study hall on its second floor that features a vivid painted ceiling, created by the artist Yitzhak Beck using custom scaffolding.
