ACROS Fukuoka is immediately identifiable by its southern facade, which rises as a series of fourteen stepped garden terraces. This mountain-like structure, finished in nineteen ninety-five, occupies the former site of the Fukuoka Prefectural Government Building. Designed by architect Emilio Ambasz, the building integrates a massive, multi-use complex with a public park, housing symphony halls, galleries, and government offices beneath a mantle of over one hundred and twenty varieties of plants.
