Tokyo Station is recognized by the long, three-story facade of red brick and white stone, topped with octagonal domes at the north and south ends. Designed by Kingo Tatsuno and opened in nineteen fourteen, the station spans over three hundred meters and was built to serve as the heart of Japan's expanding national railway network.
