Cambridge Union

The Cambridge Union is distinguished by its Victorian Gothic architecture, designed by Alfred Waterhouse and opened in eighteen sixty-six. Tucked behind the Round Church on Bridge Street, this institution is the oldest continuously running debating society in the world, established in eighteen fifteen. The building houses a historic debating chamber, modeled after the British House of Commons, where college crests and portraits of former presidents line the walls.
