Garret Hostel Bridge

Garret Hostel Bridge is a sleek, modernist structure that stretches across the River Cam with a distinct, graceful arch and a sharp central crease-line. Completed around nineteen sixty, this foot and cycle bridge is one of the earliest examples of post-tensioned concrete construction in the United Kingdom. Its design is credited to Timothy Guy Morgan, an undergraduate at the university’s architecture school who did not live to see the project finished.
