The Backs

The Backs are a stretch of green parkland and riverside meadows where the historic colleges of the University of Cambridge turn their private sides toward the River Cam. You can identify this area by the sight of ancient, pale stone college buildings rising above willow trees and manicured lawns, separated from you by the slow, winding path of the river.
