St Botolph's Church

St Botolph's Church on Trumpington Street is marked by a fifteenth-century tower topped with carved stone figures of the four evangelists. Built near the site of the medieval town's old south gate, the church served as the first point of arrival for travelers entering Cambridge from the south and west. Its dedication reflects this history, as it is named for Saint Botolph, the seventh-century abbot revered as a patron saint of travelers.
