St Catharine's College is defined by its main court, which stays open to Trumpington Street instead of forming the enclosed square seen at most other Cambridge colleges. Founded in fourteen seventy-three, it is often called Catz by the students and faculty who pass through its gates. This site occupies a central position in the city, wedged between the historic footprints of King's and Corpus Christi colleges.
