This venue occupies a series of former horse stables and coach houses that were converted into a bar and restaurant in nineteen ninety-one. At that time, the surrounding Castlefield district was largely undeveloped and dark, prompting the owners to offer free drinks to any visitors who managed to navigate the area’s unlit streets to find them.
