The Great Light is a ten-tonne, seven-metre-tall lighthouse optic housed in a purpose-built structure along the Titanic Walkway. This massive object features a hyper-radial Fresnel lens, one of the largest and most powerful of its kind ever constructed. Its glass was manufactured in Paris in eighteen eighty-seven, originally for the Tory Island Lighthouse off the coast of County Donegal.
