Whites Tavern

White's Tavern sits tucked within the narrow cobblestone passage of Winecellar Entry, defined by its three-storey rendered exterior and a history that dates back nearly four centuries. It holds the first tavern license ever granted in Belfast, a distinction awarded to the site in sixteen thirty. While the original structure associated with that early license has shifted over the generations, the current building was constructed around seventeen ninety for the merchant Valentine Jones.
