The Royal Courts of Justice on Chichester Street is marked by a grand, symmetrical Neoclassical facade featuring four tall Corinthian columns that support a deep, recessed portico. Above the main entrance, a stone carving of the Royal coat of arms remains a defining detail of the structure, which opened in nineteen thirty-three. Designed by architects Sir Richard Allison and James Grey West, the building was constructed to establish a dedicated judicial system for Northern Ireland following the Government of Ireland Act nineteen twenty.
